On Thursday, November 12, Belarus lost another Hero – Roman Bondarenko. Roman was detained and severely beaten by Lukashenko’s police on November 11, he died in hospital from a severe brain injury the next day. Raman graduated from the Institute of Culture in Minsk, and was an active defender of the memorial in Minsk’s Peremeny Square.
Belarusian Canadian Alliance and the Parish of St. Cyril of Turau invite Belarusians of Toronto and the surrounding area to honor the memory of Raman, as well as all Belarusian heroes killed during the protests. The vigil will take place this Sunday, November 15, at 524 St Clarens Ave, Toronto (Belarusian Public and Religious Center).
Please bring flowers, candles, portraits of the dead, national symbols. Be sure to have masks and follow the rules for social distancing indoors and in the courtyard of the Center. The organizers will monitor compliance with provincial restrictions on religious meetings in connection with Covid-19.
